Top rank boss Bob Arum will be at ringside at the Palms in Las Vegas tonight to watch a boxing card headlined by Cuban featherweight sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa. Arum will be back among family again, his boxing family, which likely will shower the 78-year-old promoter with some much-needed love.
It will be Arum’s first appearance in his role as the founder of Top Rank since the recent passing of his 49-year-old son, John Arum, who died while mountain climbing in Washington’s North Cascades National Park. The body of the Seattle environmental lawyer was discovered on Sept. 3 after a five-day search.
