If these new allegations are indeed true, Floyd Mayweather may very well be sharing a jail cell with his Uncle Roger. It’s becoming extremely difficult for even the most psychotic Floyd Mayweather fan to defend this guy any further. Even yours truly has gone on the record and defended Floyd a time or two. Most of the time I pointed out his boxing skills, and what he’s done in some charity work for Vegas homeless, and Vegas youth.
If it’s true that he beat up his ex girlfriend, and he’s found guilty of this crime, there will be nothing left nice to say about this guy. His legacy is already in serious jeopardy, and his fan-base has taken a hit, and now this. My oh my, Karma is a real thing. When someone who has financial freedom fails to be humble, things like this are bound to happen. You get what you deserve, and what comes around goes around.
We are all born into this world with no money, and we leave this world with no money. Having monetary wealth is worth nothing if you have no spiritual wealth. Floyd lacks spiritual wealth, and the man has a lot of soul searching to do. Of course in America you are innocent until proved guilty, so Floyd will get his day in court, IF he is arrested for these charges.
I was in Jackson, MS when I received word about this latest Mayweather news. I had an opportunity to speak with a few Jacksonians and got their thoughts on this. I spoke with Darlene Vitello of Jackson, and she pulled no punches, ” Floyd is straight up wack! The man got more money than God, but money don’t buy you sense.” I also spoke with Jimmy Fottenberry, a native of Vicksburg, MS and got his thoughts as well, “Floyd deserves his day in court before we judge him for this. If he beat up a woman, then he needs to go to jail. If she’s just making this up, then she needs to go to jail.”
We will see what happens with all of this in the near future. Mayweather had a huge opportunity to do the right thing for boxing. He should have accepted the fight with Pacquiao and earned a notch for his legacy. Now there is a chance that the boxing historians will be including Jail chapters for Floyd.
