Baby Mama drama seems to be the reason why Las Vegas Metro Police were called at 5:30 a.m. Thueaday to a known location.
The gendarmes responded to a domestic violence report phoned in from the Big Boy Mansion, home of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Baby Mama Josie Harris, age 31, reportedly told police that Mayweather ended his boxing ?vacation? by using her as an unpaid sparring partner.
Last word had the coppers, who had problems getting any cooperation from L’il Floyd on that shooting at the roller skating rink, seeking to find the always elusive fighter to get his side of the story.
I’m not going to pull a David Haye and turn domestic violence charges into comedy material as the English donkey did in comparing how he will thrash Audley Harrison to a gang rape.
But I do know, from representing countless men and women accused, some of them falsely, of such charges that often the charges are wildly exaggerated.
One time, I had a judge who had grown apart from his wife of many years. He told her he wanted a divorce. Her angry response was that she would whistle for the coppers and say that he thumped her. She did, he became a defendant but the case ?went away? in the vernacular.
First question that came to my mind was when we will see Floyd delineating his version of what went down at the BBM which has been seen ad nauseum on HBO’s 24/7 promotional show.
I doubt his legal team will allow that.
But although we now know that both Reebok and AT&T have no continuing sponsorship of or endorsement deal with Mayweather (thanks to Steve Carp, Las Vegas Review-Journal, there still might be some commercial opportunities related to this new item on the police blotter.
One that springs quickly to mind is the program, ?COPS.?
First, we hear the familiar open theme song, you know, ?Bad boy, bad boy…whatcha you gonna do when they come for you…?
Then they bring it on, the special ?All Mayweather Show? in which they cover the various criminal charges and convictions of L’il Floyd, Big Floyd and Uncle Roger.
Sorry but we must ignore Uncle Jeff as he has no rap sheet.
Having said all that, I do hope this case fizzles out if Baby Mama was not criminally assaulted.
Otherwise, we may never see the international violence Manny Pacquiao can possibly bring into Floyd’s convoluted life.
Bad boy, bad boy…
