In a developing story, TMZ.com has broken the news that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a suspect in a battery domestic violence case. Josie Harris, the mother of at least one of Mayweather?s children, has claimed that the boxer physically attacked her. Harris reportedly called the cops at 5 in the morning to report the news.
Harris apparently went to Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas afterwards before leaving afterwards. Police were apparently unable to track down Mayweather upon approaching one of his Nevada homes and will continue to look for him. Police say they plan to simply interview Floyd before determining if they will arrest him. It is also said that Harris is going to go to court today to get a restraining order against Mayweather.
Harris and Mayweather were involved in a similar scuffle in 2003 as she accused the superstar of punching her while inside of a Bentley in Las Vegas. Charges were later dropped after Harris noted that she had lied to cops because she was upset that the fighter had left her for another woman.
While the news is pretty shocking, Mayweather doesn?t seem to be too ruffled, as he has been interacting with his fans on his personal Twitter account as if nothing had ever happened. Fans and insiders in the sport don?t know what to think but seem to be truly surprised at all the recent headlines Mayweather has been grabbing for the wrong reasons.
Mayweather recently caught fire after a UStream tirade against Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao surfaced. In the video Mayweather mocked Pacquiao?s culture as well as his abilities as a fighter. Days later Mayweather would apologize but the damage had apparently been done.
Several people believe that Mayweather will get off clean yet again as they expect Harris to later change her stance and refuse to help with further investigation on the case.
