Shane Mosley:
I’m getting younger.
I’m excited, and I’m getting ready for battle.
How long after Mayweather fight did he decide to get back into the ring: I knew right away that I wanted to go back into the ring and fight again. I was in the gym three to four days later, (later saying he doesn’t know exactly how many days, but he did continue training once he was in the city of Houston).
First it was Andre Berto, (talking about his next fight after Mayweather) and it was a 50/50 split, then it was less, so then it moved to Sergio Mora, and I said I wanted to fight him and that I thought it would be an exciting fight.
Would loss be a set back: It could be a set back.
If he wins, will he get a rematch with Shaquille O’Neal: Yes, I definitely want a rematch.
Naziim Richardson (Mosley trainer):
On if Mosley would be successful in another fight against Mayweather: Some opportunities come once in a lifetime. It might not ever come back again? (referencing Duran, Hearns, and Leonard) I believe the round robin is still alive, and its alive in Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley.
I asked Mosley, why are you fighting a middleweight?
I have to prepare my welterweight to fight a middleweight.
I’ve always thought that Mora was taken lightly in the sport of boxing, that he never got his just due. I’ve known him since the amateurs.
Sergio Mora:
I’m really excited for this opportunity.
I believe the stars are aligning, with us fighting in front of our hometown, on a Mexican national holiday, and on HBO.
Its sink or swim, and I’m an excellent swimmer.
I’ve had a lot of ups and downs as a fighter, from injuries to canceled fights. But I have had success, and I’m proud of that.
On if this fight is going to be an exciting fight (based on this years’ mega fights): If people end up seeing a great fight, opinions may change.
I usually feed off my opponents. I’m usually a defensive first fighter, and Shane Mosley focuses more on boxer punching. I’ve been sparring against Antonio Margarito for ten years, and if you think he has lead on his hands, he has lead in his head, because that guy is hard to hurt.
On if the fight is a must win: When do I have the leisure of a loss? Nothing else matters but to win. Every fight is a must win. I feel like I can beat the best, and this is another opportunity for me to prove it.

Training camp is going great. Everything that I expected from Mora, he came through.
On looking at Mosley’s fight against Mayweather: I don’t think age caught up to him. I just think that inactivity, the style that Mayweather fights and other things I saw that night, Mosley likes to fight. Mayweather is the type of fighter to take the fight out of a fight.
We’re probably going to see the fighter that was in the Margarito fight.
