Seven division world champion Manny Pacquiao sat down with the Examiner today and shared his thoughts on his upcoming November 13th showdown Vs. Antonio Margarito. Pacquiao also responded to the recent rant put forth by Floyd Mayweather Jr. It seems that little Floyd has grown frustrated with the fact that Pacquiao is getting all of the headlines as of late, so he decided to chime in using racial attacks, and outright disgusting language.
Mayweather recently on youtube.com called Mayweather a “midget” and a “M*#784er Fu4*#&er” amongst other nasty disgusting things, including racial remarks such as Pacquiao eating dogs and cats, and rice.
Pacquiao being the class act that he is responded politely today, ” I don’t really want to comment too much on that. It was an uneducated thing to say. Maybe Floyd just wants more people to praise him and not me.”

Mayweather decided not to take the fight against Pacquiao so Bob Arum moved on and chose Antonio Margarito instead. The selection of Margarito has not gone over too well with some of the boxing media, as most do not feel as if Margarito deserves the opportunity.

Margarito was banned from boxing for putting plaster on his hands. Now he’s back, and right out of the gate he gets a huge opportunity to fight the sports best. The Examiner asked Manny what his thoughts were on this, ” He is human, and he deserves a second chance in life. He is trying hard to do the right thing now, so I will give him a second chance. If he gets caught cheating again, then he does not deserve to fight anymore.”
“Margarito is trying his best to get back into boxing, and it’s unfair of us not to give him another chance. We are all human, and we all deserve a second chance in this world.”
Pacquiao on fighting Margarito -” Antonio Margarito November, 13th is going to be a good fight because he throws a lot of punches, and he is a really aggressive fighter. This will create a lot of boxing in the ring.”
“This isn’t an easy fight for me because he is bigger and taller. Much bigger than De La Hoya. I have to focus on training and study his style because he has a lot of advantages.”
Pacquiao on fighting in Dallas, Texas – ” I want to thank Jerry Jones (owner Dallas Cowboys) for inviting me back to Dallas. The fans have been great here in Dallas, and I am looking forward to giving them a good fight.”
Pacquiao on his growing Hispanic fan base – ” I’m always thankful to the Mexican fans that believe in me. It’s nothing personal, it’s not my intention to fight against Mexican fighters, it just so happens that my next opponent is Mexican. It’s my job to fight and make my fans happy.”
Pacquiao on being elected Congressman – “I’m doing my job, and it’s my dream to help people. I want to reach my dreams not only in boxing but in politics too.”
“If you love your job, you can like your job. Right now I am enjoying serving the people.”
I traveled to the Time Out Sports Bar in Jackson and got some thoughts from a few boxing fans about the Pacquiao Vs. Margarito fight. I spoke with Keith Koga of Byram, MS who is a huge Pacquiao fan. He had this to say, “Manny will knockout Margarito within 8 rounds. He is too fast, and Margarito will stand right in front of him. As far as Margarito getting a second chance? He’s lucky.”
I spoke with another boxing fan who thinks Margarito should be given a second chance. Joseph Sanchez of Jackson, MS agrees with Pacquiao, “Everyone makes mistakes, give the guy a break. He was sentenced, and he completed his sentence, so let him fight.”
This fight scheduled for November 13th is going to happen regardless of which side of the fence you stand on. Hopefully it will be an action packed fight that the fans will all enjoy.
