Out of all of the people he could have come to, he goes to Robin Leach? That’s funny, but thinking about it, Floyd doesn’t read the internet. And this is the same dude that revealed to a kid that he was playing Fight Night with that he would be fighting soon. So, Ok. But who do you think he’s fighting? And who do you think is promoting it? I’m thinking that Golden Boy has no paws in it. I smell Arum and King! The reps from Dubai reached out to Arum, and I don’t see the Golden Boy people being quiet if some big fight out there was in the works. I’m thining it will be Floyd and Pac. But what do you think? Bread?s Response: We can reasonably assume why Floyd gave Robin Leach the info if in fact he actually gave it to him. As far as a fight in Dubai, I don?t want to speculate. I think it would be hard to pull a fight off of this magnitude in a place like Dubai, but they may be onto something. Because of the location it will force everybody over here to buy the PPV. Can you say 3 million buys! Right now I personally will assume it?s baseless propaganda. Just a way to keep us on the edge of seats with anticipation of Floyd?s next move.

Bread?s Response: Before my credibility gets lost hear me out. First off I wasn?t asked who was better, I was asked who would win in a fight. I think Whitaker is better. I have as much respect for Whitaker as I have for any fighter ever. He wasn?t a big puncher, he was short and he had brittle hands. But yet he moved up from weight division to weight division and stood in front of fighters and dared them to ko him. But in a hypothetical match up , we must look at tendencies and weaknesses. We must also look at common occurrences during their fights. Whitaker was dropped by lead right hands by 4 fighters. McGirt 2nd fight, Tito, Hurtado and guess who Roger Mayweather. Floyd has really long arms and his lead right hand is ultra fast. He could have the best one I have ever seen. Now my reasoning for picking Floyd is in a fight that will most likely go the distance, Floyd will land the most eye catching punch. His lead right hand will hit Whitaker just enough to squeak out a decision. I go back n forth about this fight. Sometimes I assume Whitaker will adjust and beat Floyd. He always did in his prime. But my gut usually tells me Floyd. Tell me what you think after you watch the fights I just mentioned and tell me if I lost anymore credibility?
Breadman, regards from Mongolia. It’s my first time writing to you. Have been following BT since 2002/2003 (I think). 1) Toney vs Couture. People are saying “if Toney could land a shot, Randy gets KO’d”. Toney isn’t a big puncher. Even if Toney lands a clean punch, I don’t think Randy gets knocked out cold. If Toney lands a punch, Randy gets hurt badly (maybe KD’d) and will stay on his back, and Toney has to get to the ground (Randy’s territory) to try to finish him off. Perhaps the only chance Toney has is if he has learned (or already knew) how to beat/punch a guy on the ground. By the way, I’m a boxing fan and know very little about MMA. 2) Devon Alexander. I don’t see anything special about him. Besides sloppy defense, he doesn’t see where his punches go (doesn’t have a good timing). In fact, I don’t see much special about Bradley; he’s slick and fast but doesn’t seem to have good reflexes, unlike Zab or Roy (even Cotto has better reflexes). Most of his head/body movements when he avoids/slips punches are trained movements. 3) Cotto vs Chavez Jr. Chavez is in for a beating! I agree with you that it’s a good promotion. But it will be one-sided and will make Cotto look really impressive. Even with Roach in his corner, Chavez can only do what his body allows him to. I don’t see Chavez landing much, and getting stopped by 9 or 10th round (perhaps corner stoppage), only because he has a decent beard. After the fight people will be talking about how the new weight really suits Cotto, and others (probably commentators) will be praising Chavez’s heart (boxing fans will be saying to quit boxing). Question: Who do you view as the best heavy, besides K brothers (meaning who would you favor to be the heavyweight king if K’s retire today)? Bread?s Response: If Toney catches Couture clean , he should be able to drop him. You bring up an interesting fact about Toney having to pounce on him. That could be bad for James. He will be up against it every which way I know this and James does too. Devon and Timmy aren?t special just yet, but they are excellent young fighters trying to be great. After one of them beats the other they will be closer to that. Chavez Jr. is going to take some punishment but the that is something the kid doesn?t shy away from. I think that alone will make the fight fan friendly. I also think he will do ok in a losing effort. I?m not sure he will win many rounds but I think he will make them competitive for a time.

I’m wondering if you have any thoughts or insights on pbf signing with dkp, and if so, how that could help make fight w/ manny. does dkp get on well or better with Arum than whoever promoted and fucked up the negotiations. i’m making an assumption that it’s more complicated than pbf being a bitchass. if pbf signs with dkp in order to make the fight, it would seem to me it opens up a new can of worms. Right now it’s just looking like PFB simply don’t want the fight. that looks read convenient for arum. and speaking of arum, this guy’s losing credibility with the cheat-oh bullshit and now saying Marquez needs to fight a welterweight. He wooped Manny’s ass in about 75% of their rounds (10 or 12 rouds plus 6 of 12 rounds=16/24) from what I and anyone else with two eyes recalls. I’d love it if DK came back and pulled this shit off.
Bread?s Response: My thoughts on Floyd signing with Don King are just thoughts. I think Floyd does certain things to get a rise out of us. I am going to be careful at dishing out too much credit for a fight getting made, that should be an easy close. It?s too much money on the table for all of this BS. I used to be in favor of the GAG order. But not anymore. Throughout this thing, all the gag order and these behind the scenes negotiations did was allow us to be lied to. We know for a fact now that OSCAR is a bold face liar. Arum in this particular case in my opinion has at least been an antagonist. Ellerbee has been at least un informed. What a mess. The only person I believe is Ross Greenburg. I can remember a time when Arum and King hated each other more than GB and TR ever could. Now all of a sudden they will be able to work this thing out. Ok we will see. Marquez does not need to fight a welterweight to fight Manny. They can meet at 140 and rock n roll. Marquez has earned the 3rd fight. Period.
Hey Bread I have not written in a while now I have a weird question with MargaCHEATO getting caught and the evidence that him and his team tried to cheat and the whole Manny Vs Floyd and I don?t really care whose fault it is but if you really thought this fight was going to happen you should stop trying to kid yourself you know anything about boxing because Floyd won?t fight unless it is on his terms and Bob Arum already knew before the talks he was not going to have Manny fight Floyd he said it before the talks but whatever it is not happening who cares any more my question is with this being such a bad fight all around what do you think the fans should do with their money should buy the fight or not buy the fight, Because here is what we are told if we don?t want them to do more PPV and we want better fights then we are told not to buy it I won?t be buying the fight because I won?t pay for known Cheaters period and one we really don?t know about ( you really cannot tell these days who is on what ) but besides those factor from what I have heard of the under card too sucks so why should we shell out I think the media as well should push this point to the fans to not buy the fight and prove to them in the small numbers they get that maybe next time they come to negotiation for Manny Vs Floyd then I think Arum would go real hard to make the fight happen I don?t feel he put too much effort into making it sorry he gave him a deadline and was like the next hour he was saying MargaCHEATO got the fight no effort after to try to make Golden Boy push Floyd and or anything and don?t tell me anything about business because Manny Vs CHEATO is nowhere near half of Floyd Vs Manny and that is just business because why would you want to get 15 to 20 Million when you get 25 Million a guarantee I would tell people do not buy it if this PPV does horrible then that would push Arum to get the fight done and I am sure he would have pushed a little harder than he did for it last time I know you will have to get it so you can write about it but you guys here at B-Talk are very influential and you hear our voices you should push for this because it would push for better fights it would push for better PPV I think you know, Question 2 Who are the top must watch fighters right now that make good fights ( Not Selling PPV numbers real good fights ) here are mine 1. As for the your thoughts about patronizing the fight, I posted your comment because at the end of the day ,fans voices should be heard. I said from Jump St. that I didn?t like this fight between Margarito and Pac. If you guys feel like that then don?t buy it. I won?t be, but I would be a liar if I said I wouldn?t watch it. I will mooch off a free bar or neighbors house but I?m not shelling out 50 bucks. That being said we can not run a boycott on the fight. Feel me? We can?t just say don?t buy Pac/Margarito.
