Tijuana, Mexico – Antonio Margarito is not concerned about the location of his upcoming fight with Manny Pacquiao. The fight is set to happen on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. During a Zanfer Promotions card in Tijuana, Margarito discussed his likely clash with Pacquiao and the issues with getting a license to box in the United States.
Margarito says he is confident that the athletic commission in Texas will approve his application to obtain a license to fight in their state. If the matter takes a turn in the other direction, Margarito said he is so sure that he can beat Pacquiao, that he will direct Top Rank to make the fight anywhere, including Pacquiao’s country of the Philippines. He says the location won’t matter because Pacquiao is not going to win.
“I am so confident. The fight can take place anywhere. After what happened in California, we will sit down with Top Rank and see what happens next,” said Margarito to Sal Rodriguez. “I said what I knew, what I felt, but they (California Commission) didn’t give it to me and I don’t know what reasons they had.”
