Rising Canadian lightweight Steve Claggett (9-0-1, 4 KOs) scored the biggest win of his pro career to date with a commanding eight round unanimous decision victory over big punching previously unbeaten Abdou Sow (3-1, 3 KOs) moments ago in Calgary, Canada. Claggett imposed himself on the bigger Sow from the outset of the bout and walked him back with a stern jab. Sow looked to land his big right hand from range but Claggett effectively took that shot away from him with his movement and angles. The Calgary product punished his man to the body with a vengeance and took the fight to him the entire way. Claggett hurt Sow to the body in Round 4 and dropped him with with a left hook — right hand combo in the sixth. The Quebec fighter survived the round and landed a few good shots late but Claggett was ahead on all three official cards after eight rounds were complete.
