Talk to a source a few minutes ago in the Jean Pascal camp, who told me that a fight with Lucian Bute is certainly a great possibilty but they aren?t going to necessarily rush into it. They are of the belief that this fight can be built into something bigger than ?just? a Canadian showdown and wouldn?t mind the opportunity for both fighters to be showcased in the United States.
Regarding the rematch clause with Chad Dawson, Pascal does have the option of taking a fight before and HBO does have the ?right of first refusal? on the return bout.
There?s no doubt, though, that a Pascal-Bute fight might be the biggest ever in Canada and would surely sell out Bell Centre- which both boxers call home. If this were to be an outdoor event, Olympic Stadium( former home of the Montreal Expos) is the most logical venue, I?m told.
