Alfredo ?El Perro? Angulo calims all is fine within his team, dismissing reports by head boxing Examiner Michael Marley that problems are brewing.
In a piece published today, Marley reports that promoter Gary Shaw hinted at the possibility that Angulo might stray and make Golden Boy Promotions his new home.
This report comes on the heels of the Los Angeles based fighter?s decicion to dismiss a $750,000 offer to fight middleweight champion, holding out for a larger purse and part of the live gate.
Following Angulo?s decision, Shaw and his manager Mike Criscio, both publicly questioned their fighter?s course of action.
But according to Angulo, business is business and all is well.
?I am happy with the way Shaw and Mike Criscio (manager) have developed my career and brought me along,? Angulo told the Los Angeles Boxing Examiner. ?If they want to talk bad about me in the press, they look bad for talking about a fighter they represent.?
Angulo is back in the gym and training waiting for his next fight against whoever it maybe, following a first round knock-out victory against Joachim Alcine earlier this month.
When asked about a possible rematch against Kermit Cintron, the only man to have defeated Angulo, ?El Perro? expressed no interest.
?After the situation with Paul Williams,? said Angulo, ?I am not interested in a rematch with Cintron.?
Cintron feel out of a ring and was unable to continue while fighting Paul Williams at the Home Depot Center in Carson earlier this year, but many feel Cintron took a dive off the apron.
Angulo expressed his interest in fighting before the year ends.
