It appears the hot and heavy courting between Don King and Floyd Mayweather jr. has culminated into a deal of all deals. Posted on Floyd Mayweather jr.’s twitter account earlier today was a “Letter of Intent” for a promotional deal from Don King with seemingly more “O”‘s than an egg basket!
Speculative rumors surrounding this deal is that it’s the initial steps for a potential Pacquiao clash to possibly be staged in the last fiscal quarter of the year.
With Margarito still waiting in the wings and Arum seemingly ready to head in that direction, one has to wonder whether or not his recent statement to “move on without Mayweather until next year” will be his final answer.
The facts surrounding Mayweather’s promotional status lately has been very much low-key, but what we do know is that despite their very intense attempts, GoldenBoy Promotions struck out twice and subsequently left two ‘batters’ stranded on base.
King just hit a ground ball single to load the bases. The operative question now……Will his next move be a ‘grand slam’ out of the park to end the game (for Goldenboy), and start a new one with Top Rank/Team Pacquiao?
