“There aint too many people in the world that can whoop Manny Pacquiao” – – Evander Holyfield
Recently I spoke with the former 4 time heavyweight champion of the world, Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield. During the conversation Holyfield spoke about the Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao ordeal, and quite frankly, he doubts that the fight will ever happen. When asked what his thoughts were on the fight happening he said, ” I don’t think so. I think when you keep putting something off, and putting it off, eventually it comes off of the tracks. People will start seeing this as an unattractive event.”
I asked Holyfield why he thought Mayweather decided to pass on the fight, ” I don’t know for sure, I hate to speculate on what the guy is thinking and take away from his legacy.”
Holyfield shared his thoughts on what the outcome may be if the big fight ever did happen, ” I think the fight would be a toss up. I think it’s a toss up because Pacquiao is left handed, and he is a very busy fighter. Every person that Mayweather has ever fought, they did not throw a lot of punches. Manny doesn’t no any other way but to throw a lot of punches.”
Holyfield’s thoughts on Margarito Vs. Pacquiao, “There aint too many people in the world that can whoop Pacquiao. I think Pacquiao will win this fight.”
Mississippians that I have spoken with thus far are fed up with the Mayweather saga, and just want to see Manny get back into the ring. Most of the fans that I spoke with in Jackson the other night would rather see him fight Marquez next. The fans that I spoke with are not happy that Margarito, who got caught cheating, deserves the fight with Manny.
One thing is for sure, when you have a legend like Evander Holyfield speaking highly of you it’s a clear indicator that you have made your mark on the boxing world.
