DON KING could hold the key to a super showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
Over the last few weeks, the fight has looked dead.
Yet if Mayweather were to sign with King, it may still go ahead.
Mayweather has been in Florida hanging out with King.
And Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum has said that if the ‘mix master’ was involved in negotiations, he would be confident the fight would happen.
As King told Arum: “Believe me, if I end up with him, you and I will make a deal in maybe two hours.”
To which Arum responded: “Maybe it’ll take a weekend, but we’ll make a deal.”
King claimed to understand Mayweather completely because “we share a common background, rising from the ghetto.”
He added: “Floyd wants his dignity, respect and pride to remain intact and he wants to get paid.
“That’s where I come in. I’m the mix master.”
It will be a masterstroke if King helps the fight everyone wants to see become a reality.
But if it goes ahead, it looks like Dallas – where Pacquiao fought Joshua Clottey in front of 47,000 fans earlier this year – will be the venue.
