Former South african and WBC-Int. super featherweight champ Mzonke Fana (22-3, 8 KOs) will return to action in his hometown at Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on December 9, fighting Philippines fighter Benjamin Sollano (10-5, 7 KOs). It will be the first fight for Fana after his knock-out loss against the great Marco Antonio Barrera in a WBC title challenge in El Paso, TX, this past April. Fana challenged the Mexican for his WBC jr. lightweight crown after earning mandatory contender status by beating another Filipino, Randy Suico, in May last year. Promoter Branco Milenkovic stated that Fana will make himself available for another world title challenge again if he wins impressively against Sollano.
