Wow, what a weekend of boxing. First we saw John John Molina get schooled for the first seven rounds then in the 8th round Molina timed Lundy and BOOM down goes Lundy. Lundy would recover from it but from that point on the heat was right on his ass and closing in. I feel that Lundy got too comfortable and the second he took his eyes of the prize, just like that the power of Molina was too much to withstand.
I once said that if Antwone Smith and Andre Berto ever do battle that I would take Smith to beat Berto. Do I still feel that way? Yes and No, the Smith that got his ass handed to him by Tyner would get blitzed by Berto. A focused Smith however is a complete different animal. Let this be a lesson to all fighters out there, when the tape of your opponent falls on your lap, you should study it. Guys like Floyd Mayweather Jr. can get away from studying film because Floyd can adjust in a blink of an eye.

Why oh Why did Donaire try to box Marquez out of that southpaw stance? Had Donaire started the fight out of the orthodox stance, this fight would have ended inside 4 rounds. Donaire however being the clever fighter that he is, broke down Marquez little by little and then switched back to what he is used to in the 5th round. Stick with what you know, if it aint broke then don?t fix it. I would love to see Donaire vs. Mares.
Juanma is a beast! A very vulnerable beast but still a beast. Bernabe came in looking ripped like a Pacquiao-clone but timing will always kill brawn. Strength is what kept helping Bernabe get back up from Juanma?s bombs but timing is what did the job for Juanma. I was hoping that the fight lasted longer, not just for action, but because I feel that Juanma is really feeling himself too much right now. I mean by taking on a dangerous fighter like Bernabe and then turn around and take on a legend like Rafael Marquez just 2 months later tells me that he really feels like Superman out there. I find it to be disrespectful to both Bernabe and especially a fighter that has put in his time like Marquez surely has. I believe that Lopez will be too much for this Marquez, but I tell you, a prime Marquez would have given him hell.
