Three-time world champion Erik “El Terrible” Morales will set up his training in Queretaro, Mexico a city located some 90 miles north of Mexico City a change the was made due to the bad weather -rain, snow and cold- that prevails in the Otomi Mountains during the winter months. “Over the last eight years I have train at the Otomi for all my fights, except for one – my title bout with Gustavo Espadas in 2002- and have being very successful, but the weather is very bad up there this time of year,” said Morales. Morales will soon depart for Queretaro with some changes in his working team, changes that came about after his unexpected loss to former USA Olympian Zahir Raheem on September 10 of this year in Los Angeles.

“I still have not decided who will be helping me in this camp, but Queretaro will definitely be the site of my training camp for this second fight against Pacquiao,” said Morales, who will face Manny Pacquiao on Saturday, January 21 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on a card to be telecast on HBO Pay-per-View. The three-time world champ said that the weather in Queretaro will be much better then what he would get at the Otomi where the rain and cold would have being a hindrance to his preparation. “I will begin my training very soon. I expect a very difficult fight against Pacquiao. One that will be very intense from start to finish, and this is one fight that I just cannot afford to lose,” said Morales.
