A hero’s welcome awaits International Boxing Federation junior featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who returns home today after a devastating third-round TKO victory over undefeated challenger Emmanuel “The Butcher” Lucero last Sunday at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles.
In an unprecedented move, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo cited Pacquiao in her State of the Nation address Monday when she said: “The Filipino will work anywhere because he is not afraid, like Manny Pacquiao. Given the chance to compete, he will take it and he will win.”
