We all got a kick out of Freddie Roach’s comments that Manny Pacquiao will agree to all of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s demands just to make the fight happen. But is Manny Pacquiao really going to do this or is this just another one of Roach’s challenges? What’s the risk vs. reward for Manny if he were to ‘go all in’? Let’s examine further: ?At this point I feel that Manny is going to agree to everything. That?s our bluff. We?re going to call his bluff. We?ll see?I can?t speak for Manny, I can?t speak for (Bob) Arum but I feel the fight will happen because Manny is going to call his bluff and say ?let?s do it.? Manny?s now a congressman. He?s going to agree with everything Mayweather wants. That?s why I think the fight will happen.? Roach, Toronto Star Immediately after reading these comments, a few things jump out at me. Why would Manny all of a sudden change his stance and agree to everything? What does ‘everything’ mean? Does that include random drug testing up until fight day? Does he agree to the purse split? And, how does becoming a congressman influence Manny to agree to everything? As you can see, there are more questions than answers here. Are these comments to be taken seriously or is it just another attempt by Freddie Roach to tip the scales in favor of Manny? Demands If Manny were to agree to all of Floyd Jr’s demands, that would include a reported 60-40 purse split and drug testing up until the day of the fight.
