FLYING HIGH: Super-flyweight Donaire
WE in the BN office recently decided our pound-for-pound ratings were starting to look a little old and tired and needed freshening up. So all six of us ? Editor Tris Dixon, Managing Editor Daniel Herbert, Senior Writer Danny Flexen, Art Editor Nick Bond, Reporter Matt Christie and Editorial Assistant John Dennen ? submitted our own p4p top 10s and combined them to create the new list you see below, with previous rankings in parentheses at the end.
Sergio Martinez breaks in, while Israel Vazquez drops out but the highest climber is “Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire who rockets up from No. 7 to No. 4.
1. Manny Pacquaio (Philippines) (1)
2. Floyd Mayweather (USA) (2)
3. Juan-Manuel Marquez (Mexico) (5)
4. Nonito Donaire (USA) (7)
5. Bernard Hopkins (USA) (3)
