It remains uncertain to what degree of success both camps are having with the negotiations between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. One week, we get optimism and excitement. The next week we get misquotes and ‘no comments’. In fact, we’ve also gotten a few incidents where Team Mayweather denied even having contractual talks. But, I’m here to tell you that there are some signs pointing in one clear direction. The direction of Floyd Jr not taking this fight. Let’s examine further: Here are 5 signs that Floyd Mayweather Jr doesn’t really want to fight Manny Pacquiao: 5) Purse Split Some might say that these negotiations over purse splits are part of boxing matchmaking. That certainly is true to some degree, but when you add this to the other signs then it becomes another example of fear. Floyd’s desire to have a larger purse split only complicates the negotiations and delays them further, which I think is his ultimate goal. It was Manny Pacquiao who said that if Floyd Mayweather Jr made another excuse, after agreeing to a 14 day drug cut-off date, then it would be a clear sign of Floyd not wanting to fight him. Well, the money split is another excuse. And it’s a clear sign that he doesn’t want to fight Manny. There were no problems during the initial round of negotiations in regards to a purse split. There was no doubt that the Mayweather-Mosley fight would sell more PPVs than Pacquiao vs. Clottey. And we can’t ignore the fact that Team Mayweather has rejected 3 proposals from Team Pacquiao which were counter offers to Floyd’s 60/40 purse split.
