Depending on who you talk to, a rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto is a good thing. Miguel’s victory over Yuri Foreman proved that he’s rebounded from his previous fight; which was a total beatdown at the hands of Manny Pacquiao. But, will a rematch between Miguel and Manny take place at 147 or 154? According to Miguel Cotto, he’s open to either. Let’s examine further: In a recent interview with Golzka, Miguel Cotto had the following to say about what weight he would fight at next: “I want the big fights. I’ll speak with my team and we’ll make a decision on what’s next for Miguel Cotto. Oh Miguel, I have to disagree with you. As much as I enjoy your fights, entering a rematch with Pacquiao at 147 would be disastrous. Perhaps, the Cotto supporters need a quick recap of what happened between Manny and Miguel from last November. Pacquiao vs. Cotto The fight ended up being a one sided affair. At first, people thought that Cotto would overwhelm Manny with his power. But Manny displayed the power and the speed. By time the fight was over, Miguel’s face was swollen and bloody. The fight ended in the 12th round when the ref stopped it at the 2:05 mark. In all honesty, the fight should’ve ended at least 1-2 rounds earlier. But, Cotto’s warrior mentality wouldn’t let him quit. So, he kept fighting despite putting up any offense and used his face for blocking the punches. Speaking of punches Pacquiao landed about twice as many punches as Cotto (336/780 to 172/597). Manny also landed 183 more power punches than Cotto.
