The comments came in response to assertions from Katsidis’s trainer, Brendon Smith, that World Boxing Association light-welterweight champ Khan was avoiding the heavy-hitting Australian who defeated Kevin Mitchell at Upton Park last month.
Roach countered by saying the Bolton fighter is ready for the World Boxing Organisation interim lightweight champion ? and anyone in the 140lb division.
“If he does take the fight on July 31, he needs to get back over here and get in the gym this week. My view is that Amir is ready for anyone right now.”
