Balimbing or fight: Floyd Mayweather’s only choices

Many analysts, some of who can even discern a left hook from a fish hook, believe firmly and deeply that Manny Pacquiao won’t be able to hit and hurt mobile Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The negative thinkers maintain that the Pinoy Idol can’t cut the ring off the dancing and dodging American.

I beg to differ, speed bag breath.

Pacquiao just trapped Mayweather in a negotiating sense, leaving the Artful Dodger with a simple choice.

Mayweather, faced with Pacman’s sudden acquiescence to a 14 day before the bout blood test, can either man, or should I say Manny, up or he can go the balimbing route.

That’s right, balimbing. It’s the name for the tasty starfruit but it’s also a derisive term used in the Philippines to describe turncoat, hypocritical politicians.

Are you Mr. Balimbing, Floyd, or do you now accelerate the negotiations to the purse split and the venue issues?

Time to check the man or the mouse in your mirror.

Pacquiao went into his trick bag on Mayweather, putting out the message that he might agree to a midpoint between 24 and 14 days and go no further.

Pacman was just floating like a butterfly and then stung the Mayweather camp like a bee by acedding to the 14 day demand.

I keep repeating myself, you give Pacman 36 minutes of live combat and I don’t care if Mayweather is riding a faster bike than Lance Armstrong’s.

The time will come when a sudden delivery of “Manila Ice” will cool Floyd’s jets.

The time will come when Megamanny turns a polite boxing match into a back alley rumble.

That’s when Manny will have his biggest chance to win this dream bout.

All the prattle, all the shuck and jive out of Mayweather and his yes men, can’t make that go away.

Mayweather has been painted into a corner now.

Balimbing is tasty

Will he fight the fight or will he turn and run away from a completed contract?

Mayweather’s choices are down to two, answer the battle cry or do what Pinoy trapos do.

He can either rise to the occasion or go balimbing.

I say the lure of $40 million plus makes Mayweather’s decision.

I think he will not go balimbing. The guy does not refer to himself as Money May for nothing, does he?

But I could be wrong. He might look for another escape hatch.

If he does, then he will personify balimbing.
