MANILA, Philippines — The Pacquiao clan was set to hold a double celebration on Saturday for family matriarch ?Mommy? Dionisia Pacquiao?s 61st birthday and her son?s victory in the recent polls.
Although everything?s prepared for Mommy Dionisia?s party, from her apple green gown, to her apple green cakes and her dancing shoes, Pacquiao?s mother admitted being ?nervous? for her upcoming dance number.
?Malamig naman ang aircon sa kwarto ko, bakit hindi ako nakatulog… Baka iniisip ako ng fans ko, ng mga friends ko… iniisip nila ako,? said Mommy Dionisia.
Organizers have been dressing up the KCC convention Center in General Santos City for the double celebration. At least 1,000 guests are expected.
Mommy Dionisia?s son, boxing champion and Sarangani Congressman-elect Manny Pacquiao, allotted P1 million for the lavish party.
Before the clock strikes 12, the birthday celebration will shift to a victory party for Pacquiao?s victory as a member of the House of Representatives representing Sarangani province.
The reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion was proclaimed winner in the race for the lone congressional seat of Sarangani province after he garnered 120,052 votes against rival Roy Chiongbian who got 60,899.
Mommy Dionisia said Pacquiao?s poll victory was her birthday wish ?from above?.

Dionisia said she fervently prayed for the congressional seat win because she saw how much her son wanted to be a politician.
