FLOYD-SHANE BROUGHT BACK DAY ACTOR STEVE MCQUEEN DIED
San Francisco, CA- As I watch the Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley replay, if you like me are old enough to have watched Muhammad Ali-Larry Holmes on October 2, 1980, then you know that Ali, like Shane was 38 and had no reflexes, nor any pop in his punches and was stopped after ten rounds. The only difference between Ali-Holmes and Mayweather-Mosley was that Shane caught Floyd in the second, something Ali couldn?t do in 30 minutes with the historically underrated Holmes.
WE KNOW SHANE WAS CLEAN FOR FLOYD
Before I wrote this, I watched the Mayweather fight twice and Shane?s prior fight, a whipping of Antonio Margarito in January 2009. Watching the two versions of Shane Mosley was as different as night and day. Against Margarito, Shane roared off the stool and was strong throughout. In this fight, Shane didn?t have it, not the fire, not even once, he had nothing.
ABOUT THOSE DARN BLOOD TESTS
Although I understand that fighters get old overnight, the difference was so vast that one has to wonder whether or not Shane Mosley entered the ring a weakened fighter because he had to take those random blood & urine tests?
COULD IT BE ONE OF THESE TWO THEORIES?
There are two trains of thought put forth here. 1. The blood tests were too invasive and weakened Mosley. 2. Having to take the blood tests excluded any chance of his using performance enhancing drugs, something Mosley has admitted to under oath, thus he looked all of a guy at 38 and with 50 fights?
