Floyd Mayweather Jr just made a sure fire hall of fame fighter (Shane Mosley) look like an average fighter. Mosley was so tight and anxious that he got tired early which provided even more opportunity for Floyd to do his thing. Floyd’s brilliant counter punching made Mosley apprehensive to engage, and it threw him off of his game for the majority of the fight.
Mayweather is a brilliant fighter no matter what some of the fans say. If you want clear cut accurate opinions of Floyd Mayweather all you need to do is listen to what his peers in boxing say about him. If you lined up 100 professional boxers and asked them about Floyd Mayweather, 99 of them would say that he’s a brilliant fighter, an all time great.
Floyd’s cocky attitude and his willingness to throw his money around is what turns people off. It’s those who do not like Mayweather that criticize his fighting abilities. The thing is, they shouldn’t criticize his fighting abilities because of how they feel about him personally. Mayweather no matter what anyone says about him is a great fighter. I don’t know about you, but I will take Roy Jones Jr’s opinion of Floyd’s fighting ability over some angry fan’s opinion of Floyd Mayweather any day.
Back in September of 2009 Floyd soundly defeated Juan Manuel Marquez. It was easy, so easy that people were actually hoping that the referee would stop the fight. Who gave Manny Pacquiao the most difficulty in his career? Juan Manuel Marquez did. If Floyd Mayweather dominated the same guy that Pacquiao had trouble with, what happens when and if he faces Pacquiao? Does this mean that Mayweather dominates Pacquiao? No, probably not but it does prove that Mayweather is pretty darn good, no?
I spoke with the Assistant Athletic Commissioner of Mississippi Patrick Turner and got his thoughts on Mayweather’s recent clinic over Shane Mosley. Turner was very impressed, “Floyd Mayweather just showed what he is made of and he proved all of his haters wrong. There is no denying how good this man is in the ring.”

Pacquiao has nothing to prove to anyone. He has already defined greatness, in fact he has taken greatness to a whole new level. Pacquiao is the complete package. A kid from the Philippines that rose from poverty to international fame. A kid that would grow up and conquer 7 weight divisions and ultimately become the pound for pound king. Mayweather has his doubters. He has less of them after what he did to Shane Mosley, but he still has some. There is only one way to settle this score and that is for Mayweather and Pacquiao to let the fists fly.
