Floyd Mayweather Jr made a great fighter in Shane Mosley look like an average fighter. Mosley, a loved fighter in boxing by many fans had no answers for the speed and defense of Floyd Mayweather. Unfortunately with such a dominating performance comes the conspiracy theories and the excuses, particularly from the Pacquiao fans and from anyone else who simply hate Mayweather. Whether or not it’s a conspiracy or just an excuse, both are being spread out on the web from Mayweather’s detractors.
Excuse 1 – Shane Mosley broke his hand.
Conspiracy 2 – Shane Mosley took a dive.
Excuse 3 – Shane over trained.
Excuse 4 – Shane got old.
Mayweather hasn’t even had enough time to take a shower and the above mentioned excuses and or conspiracy theories are already being tossed around. Let’s look at these excuses and conspiracy theories. Someone made the mention to this writer that Mosley broke his hand and did not throw a right anymore after the second round. I beg to differ, Mosley threw plenty of right hands after the second round. The problem is, he rarely landed it because A – He was afraid of getting CRACKED by a Mayweather counter punch, and B – He missed because Floyd saw it coming a mile away and slippped the punch.
OK so now the talk of Mosley taking a dive. This one cracks me up. Mosley took a dive yet almost knocked out Floyd in the second round? Come on, get real. Mosley tried to kill Mayweather in the 2nd round and almost had him out of there. Mayweather being the brilliant fighter that he is made an adjustment, and after that? Floyd “Money” Mayweather show time.
Shane over trained? Perhaps this may be the only excuse that I have heard that makes a little bit of sense. I don’t buy it fully, because Shane has been around a long time and he knows when his body is getting burned out. How about considering this? How about considering the fact that Mosley’s hands weren’t wrapped until very late. He was dry, and not warmed up. By the time Mosley had his right hand wrapped, Mayweather was already finished and had a lather of sweat from head to toe.
Shane got old? He didn’t look old in the second round did he? He looked pretty damn good to me. Mosley cracked Mayweather with a right hand that “Money” never saw. Mosley moved in for the kill, but was not able to get it. Mayweather made some brilliant adjustments, and Shane could never recover.
The next conspiracy that we will probably hear is that Mayweather wasn’t really Mayweather. It was Manny Pacquiao in a Floyd Mayweather costume.
