The fact that it would have been fought many years ago swiftly reduced the strength of its entertainment and legacy value. Mosley at the retiring age of 38, the honor in victory appeared to fall solely on his lap, not on the primed and younger and undefeated Mayweather who was heavily expected to win, making the fight less interesting. However, the staging of the fight would have been more substantial and rational if Mosley?s WBA welterweight title was placed on the line which by all accounts was quickly doable if the true spirit of the sport had been put into full consideration.
Anyway it appears there?s no abiding law that compels a fighter to fight for the world title which is ? aside from the monetary gain – strongly linked to the fight being made. This surely was the case of the Mayweather ?
