Alright Paulie, so Khan has been spitting about how your old habbits will resurface come fight night. What?s your take?
PM- First of all Albert, I am probably the worst guy in the world to study tape on. I fought alot of the time not being 100% or what not because of my hands. Listen, if Khan thinks that he is fighting any of those Paulie?s he is sadly mistaken.
Do you feel that maybe Khan is getting nervous about the fight creeping up on him, in return making him be more vocal than we are used to seeing him?
PM- It could be. I really don?t know. I have been quiet for this fight because I have been working hard in camp which is why if you notice, until you and I are speaking just now, I haven?t been doing any interviews. I did most of my talking at the press conference announcing the fight. But I can surely talk up a storm, I can turn it on and off at any given time. I?m sure that as we get closer to the fight, I will be doing some interviews. So if Khan wants to talk now, let him talk, all he is doing is adding fuel to the fire.
In almost every talk or articles that I have read, you always hear about the Roach Factor. What?s your take on that?
PM- I don?t read into any of that. Roach is a great trainer and all that, but I know for a fact that Roach can not fight for Khan. I also know that I have a great team with me . These guys really get it, they don?t take away from me at all, I have a great team with me and like I said, I just wish I had them my whole career.
I feel that Amir Khan is a good fighter that will someday be something special, but in facing someone like you, Khan is in real deep water.
PM- You have no idea Albert. I?m going to give this guy the ass whooping of his life. Khan is going to have a lot of questions to answer to. Trust me. I have been to the big stage in facing Cotto, Hatton, Diaz and others so I have been there and done that.
It?s funny you say questions to answer, because I feel that Khan has been facing question marks, in facing Paulie Malignaggi Khan will be facing a exclamation point. You have been there and done that so that may be the difference. Do you see the same?
PM- Exactly. Maidana is also one of these guys that has faced question marks. Not to take anything away from Ortiz who by the way will be fighting on my undercard, but Ortiz was a huge question mark that to me was rushed into the spotlight. In facing me, Khan will be facing a real champion, a former champion, that?s why you come to America. You come to America to fight the best. Here in America we may not be as good as they are over there when it comes to building stars, but you can not deny the talent that we have here. Which is why you have to come to America to face the very best. Khan will find out first hand. We will all see who the showstopper is and who the dud is. Tune in because I am going to teach Khan a lesson.
