Adamek Delivers The Goods- Before the Adamek/Arreola clash took place, I felt that Arreola?s power would be too much for Adamek to be able to endure, which is why I picked Arreola to stop Adamek. I was right about Arreola having too much power for Adamek, but I was wrong about the ending result. It was because of Arreola?s power that forced Adamek to step it up to another level. Once Adamek felt that power, Adamek wisely then chose to play keep away from Arreola and then created much needed space and landed enough shots to make Arreola look like Shrek. [His words, not mine] Had the result been different had Arreola had 2 good fists? Probably. Then again, probably not. Who knows. All I know is that, this was what a heavyweight match should look like. I would love to see this rematch, but this time back in Joisy. I?m sure that Arreola will have no problem whatsoever making the trip. And if Arreola really never hurt Adamek like Adamek so called says, then Adamek should have no problem with another exciting match. Adamek reminds me of Joshua Clottey, both fighters will never in a million years admit to us all that they were hurt. If Adamek doesn?t give Arreola a rematch, I would then love to see Adamek face Povetkin.
Kessler not the same, but still good enough to beat Froch- The Super 6 Tourney still has yet to disappoint. Kessler/Froch provided a great scrap from start to finish. Before the tourney, I picked Kessler to win it all. If I had to choose again, I would change my pick to Andre Ward. Kessler to me just is not the game fighter he once was. During the telecast, Tarver touched on how Kesslers 1, 2 is no longer the deadly weapon that it used to be. Tarver was dead on. Kessler and his deadly weapon now looks forced, it no longer flows like water. Still though, same Kessler or not, Kessler was still good enough to beat a very game Froch. Froch is always a game fighter who always brings it, but I felt that Kessler was just a little bit better than Froch. I just hope that this epic battle did not take too much out of Froch, because Froch will need to be 100% to face Arthur Abraham. They will surely need doctors as judges in that one, because both fighters are already dangerous fighters to begin with, but both fighters fighting each other coming off their first loss makes them killers. Both fighters will rather die than to lose 2 in a row. I can not wait.
Pound For Pound Talk- I was recently asked if I would still place Hopkins in my top ten pound for pound. My answer was absolutely not. Is Hopkins a living legend? Of course he is, without a doubt. Hopkins is a pound for pound fighter for the ages, but when you put up a stinker, guess what? You get frozen out, left out in the blizzard. My new top 10 pound for pound list would look something like this.
