Boxing without Pacquiao- I was recently asked if I feel that if Pacquiao wins in his upcoming election if he will continue to fight in the ring. I sure hope he does. I don?t want to even think of boxing without Pacquiao. Pacquiao right now is a fighting machine like no other. Sure boxing will still have it?s action fighters like Gamboa, Valero, and others, but right now no fighting soul brings it like Pacquiao can.
Pacquiao too much for Floyd & Shane?- As much as I love Pacquiao?s work, I feel that Floyd as the kind of ring smarts that will trouble Pacquiao from time to time. As for Shane, Shane seems to be like fine wine, gets better with age. Shane has the warrior heart that just will not bend. The recent Pacquiao opponents at one time or another found the quit in them and simply gave up on themselves, Shane?s heart simply will not allow him to go that route. Pacquiao is too much for Berto, Pacquiao is too much for just about anybody in the world, but too much for Floyd & Shane? I am not so sure about that.
Cotto/Foreman a good fight?- Yes, it sure is a good fight. Those that think it?s not a good fight are simply just looking at Yuri?s ko record on his ledger. Guess what guys? Power doesn?t always win fights. Foreman, Malignaggi, and Sergio Mora will forever get pissed on for not having a high ko percentage. Sometimes a fighters record doesn?t always tell the fighters true strength. For example look at Amir Khan, Khan gets beat up for not taking on Maidana. Shit if you ask me, Malignaggi is a much tougher fight than Maidana. Roach is a master at picking apart a style like the one Maidana employs. Roach has a much tougher time breaking down speed and movement. I love all styles so I can appreciate watching a man with a butter knife slicing up a killer with a sword. I also can?t wait to see how Cotto will look under Emanuel Steward.
Shannon the Cannon- Shannon Briggs won in spectacular fashion over the weekend. If Briggs does come back strong he can get a shot at a Klitschko. I feel that Briggs has the experience and more importantly the size to back up a Klitschko. The question then would be if Briggs has enough firepower left to keep a Klitschko in retreat mode. I?m not sure he does, but I would love to find out.
