There are a lot of good things that come out of being a member of team Pacquiao. Of course just being someone that Manny calls a friend is an honor. Living a more comfortable life than most is a good thing, and having access to the greatest fighter in a long time is a very good thing. With that said, it’s not all good being part of the Pacquiao story. Let’s take a look at some things that have transpired within the Pacquiao world over time.
Freddie Roach had to hire an attorney to defend himself against an allegation of assault by a Filipino journalist. He would be cleared of all charges.
Alex Ariza ended up jacking up Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz with an old school woman slap across the face. This created a fire storm on the boxing sites.
Pacquiao had to hire an attorney to defend against the allegations of steroid usage by team Mayweather. This of course derailed the mega fight that should have happened already.
Michael Moorer was brought in a few fights back and basically made the Wild Card Gym a not so nice place to visit. There are probably a few fans that are still mentally scarred after leaning on the counter.
With the amount of fame and fortune that Pacquiao has, it’s really not as bad as it could be. There are a lot of snakes that are lurking around trying to get a piece of the Pacquiao pie, but so far he has done a decent job keeping most of them away.

When I spent my time with Manny a few months ago, I was amazed at how composed he is with all of the pressures and demand put on him. The guy can’t eat a meal, or do anything much anymore without being bombarded with fans.
I asked Freddie Roach if he would consider bringing Pacquiao to Mississippi to train for one of his fights. Manny is an icon in most places, but honestly? He’s not that popular in Mississippi. Some hardcore boxing fans would know him, but he could walk in any mall in Mississippi, and most people would not recognize him.
With Manny Pacquiao comes many things. Most are good, but as mentioned above, there are some negatives. It has nothing to do with Manny as a person. We all know that Pacquiao is a class act, and he has the respect of most people in and out of the sport. Living in the Pacquiao world has it’s challenges as well. It just comes with the territory.
