“I haven’t switched to UFC,” proclaimed James Toney on the latest edition of The Boxing Truth Radio. “I am in negotiations to fight on May 29. Boxing is still number one.”
It seems as if Toney, a legendary boxing figure who recently signed to participate in the UFC, just wants to continues his career as a fighter, somewhere, somehow.
At 41 years of age, and clearly past his prime, most agree that it would be best for Toney to walk away from any combat sport, but the Grand Rapids, Michigan native is determined to continue.
According to Toney, though all the recent hype centering around his career has been about UFC, he may enter a boxing ring before we get to see him the octagon.
So with a potential May 29 boxing bout in the works, Toney also informed fans that his UFC debut could take place in June or July.
