This show had bad luck. Ex-OPBF superfeather champ Kengo Nagashima fell down the stairs to feel a neck pain at home just a day before the weigh-in. His father and promoter Kiyoshi Nagashima decided to cancel Kengo’s appearance in the main event with Filipino feather champ Jeffrey Onate, though he fully paid to him as stipulated. His up-and-coming prospect Masayuki Fujikake (16-4, 3 KOs), 116, OPBF #10 ranked 115-pounder, fought well but was badly stopped by Filipino flyweight champ Federico Catubay (16-9-3, 11 KOs), 114.25, at 0:30 of the tenth and final session on Saturday night in Tokyo, Japan. The flattened Fujikake was carried out by a stretcher and was immediately sent to the hospital by ambulance. The Japanese southpaw underwent brain surgery to remove a blood clot, but stays in a coma at this moment.
