All roads lead to Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao!
Tungod, Inabanga, Bohol – In the undying Pacquiao-Mayweather saga, two contrasting fighters are somehow left out in the cold. One is a hungry young lion vigorously trying to seek recognition, while the other one continues to struggle to keep his now precarious spot among the elites. Hammer-handed knockout freak Edwin Valero of Venezuela not only strives to gain acceptance by the licensing commissions, but more so endeavors for validation as a certified boxing phenom, who might very well take over the reigns as one of the sport’s top draws in the seemingly inevitable post Manny Pacquiao era. Mexican pride Juan Manuel Marquez, on the other hand, simply wants to prove that he’s not totally washed up and establish himself, if he hasn’t done it yet, as the ultimate matador to ferocious raging bulls. Both fighters want a shot at the Pacman, but nobody, and I mean NOBODY, at this point in time thinks that they have a case to challenge boxing’s best fighter pound for pound… not unless they hurdle a significant name – perhaps Marquez for Valero and Valero for Marquez. It couldn’t get any better than that.

Now let’s focus our attention at Juan Manuel Marquez, probably the only pug who can lay claim as the fighter who gave Manny Pacquiao fits. That’s already saying something, especially considering the quality of Pacquiao’s list of victims. Unfortunately for the Mexican Dynamite, pundits and fans alike no longer consider him as a legitimate threat to the Filipino firebomb. Pacquiao seemed susceptible to his marksmanship and skills at lightweight. But north of it, the general consensus is that the Pinoy idol is going to crush him for his first knockout loss. Of course, that still remains to be seen. Time is, however, not on his side, as father time is slowly catching up on him. Valero is his best chance for another shot at glory… and possibly complete a trilogy with his very popular nemesis. He’s not expected to win if that happens… but most assuredly, after all’s been said and done, he is definitely going to laugh his way to the bank!
