Manny Pacquiao can sit back and relax on the boxing front for now. He’s got a campaign to deal with as he seeks a seat in the Filipino house of representatives.

For now, the boxing world turns its attention the the Shane Mosley – Floyd Mayweather showdown and the pleas for the winner to get into the ring with Pacquiao will be loud and clear.
If Mosley pulls off the upset and defeats Mayweather, the negotiations will be easy. Mosley has already stated that he doesn’t mind giving Pacquiao the lions share of the money and presumably (unless Golden Boy attempts to make an ill conceived point), there won’t be any quarrels over drug testing protocol.
If Mayweather wins, let the circus begin. The money split, which was settled easily between the two camps during the last negotiations, could prove to be an issue this time if Mayweather’s fight with Mosley does better on PPV than Pacquiao vs. Josh Clottey. Also, drug testing will again be an issue.
The Golden Boy camp and Top Rank camp really don’t get along, but could probably find common ground in business. The Mayweather camp and Top Rank hate each other and both can be stubborn. There may be a fight before the fight.
So over the next few months we have Mosley – Mayweather, Kelly Pavlik – Sergio Martinez, Tomasz Adamek – Chris Arreola, Andre Ward – Allan Green, Arthur Abraham – Andre Dirrell and Carl Froch – Mikkel Kessler. And then we have the possibility of Mayweather / Mosley vs. Pacquiao.
It’s a good time to be a fight fan. And Pacquiao is on top of the fight world. Pacman can sit back and watch it all unfold.
