Manny Pacquiao is one of those fighters that only comes along once every 40 years. When his career in boxing comes to an end, there will be a void that will be very hard to fill. Can you imagine what the sport would have been like if Manny never arrived on the scene? With the oh so boring heavyweight division falling from grace, it was Pacquiao that hit the scene and saved the sport.
Once Mike Tyson left the stage the sport desperately needed someone else to grab the torch and run with it. That person was Manny Pacquiao. There has not been anyone since Mike Tyson that has put boxing back into every day households. Very rarely do we see modern day fighters on hit television shows like the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Pacquiao has now made multiple appearances on the show. Pacquiao not only shines inside of the ring, but what he has done for those in need outside of the ring is even more impressive.

When you’re the king of the hill there are always people that want to try and knock you off. Of course most of you have already heard about the steroid allegations trumped up by team Mayweather. This of course derailed the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight, or at least partially derailed it.
I have spoken with many boxing minds in my state of Mississippi, and not one of them can find a bad or negative thing to say about Pacquiao. I recently spoke with the state of Mississippi Athletic Director Jon Lewis, and he had nothing but praise for the man. Boxing fans all throughout the state view Manny as nothing but good for the sport.
Unlike Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao’s legacy is right on track. When he finally hangs up the gloves the sport will look back at a man who was right for boxing. The historians will write about a kid from the Philippines that rose to the top of the boxing world, and did it the right way.
