Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey Predictions From Wild Card Gym And Enscriber Staff

Sean Ong:

I have a feeling Manny Pacquiao will stop Clottey in the later rounds. I know Roach predicted a KO 9, but I have a feeling it will be by the 10th or 11th. I imagine this fight being very similar to the fight with Oscar and Cotto where the bigger and slower man will be out pointed and beaten to a submission by the full onslaught –either by the corner or self-willingly.

Dennis Guillermo:

I think it all depends on how Clottey’s trained, prepared and his mindset on this fight. We all know what Manny is capable of doing and if Clottey folds or shows the lack of offensive aggressiveness like he did against Cotto, Manny’s going to pick him apart. You never know though. How many opportunities will Clottey get like this in his career? He might just go for broke and lay it all out. The big Ghanaian is definitely capable of landing damaging blows. Pac went to war against Cotto, and if Clottey wants a shot at beating Pac, he will have to muster all his will and determination and fight like his life depended on it.

Prediction: Pac will win via TKO in the 10th.

Oliver Suarez:

Depends on how Clottey can adjust to Pacquiao’s speed and movement. Clottey doesn’t have great lateral movement, which you need to have in order to beat Pacquiao. Also his high guard will not be as effective against Pacquiao because of his ability to throw punches from all angles. Also Clottey’s tendency to hold back on his punches ll play a big part in the fight. It might be tougher fight than the Cotto fight but it will end in the same fashion. A late round TKO.
