Floyd Mayweather Sr made another of his bold statements about Manny Pacquiuao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. yesterday. Armed only with a copy of his latest remarks, I talked to some of the local fans to get their opinions about his latest tirade. Of course this isn’t the first time that the dreadlocked one has flown off the handle about Pacquiao and what he suspects him to have taken. Not so long ago he was on the Boxing Truth show talking about the very same thing. That time he called it A-side meth, although of course methamphetamine is a commonly known drug and not something that can make someone bulletproof. To be fair to Floyd, have been rumord of all kinds of experimental drugs that various armies have used to make soldiers impervious to pain, although most would be of little use on boxing. While it is possible to deaden someone to pain or make them essentially fearless, it is very difficult to do all that while retaining whatever boxing skills they might have had. It of course goes without saying that Floyd Sr. is probably not privy to information about most secret military projects and experiments. The last time Floyd Sr. opened up about his feelings towards Manny Pacquiao, this was the result: “That mother***** is on the A-side meth, he on that or something else, that’s what the **** he’s on,” “It’s called the A-side meth. He on that or he on something else. The A-side meth is what they used to have years ago, like 500 years ago. That ***t makes you three times stronger than you naturally is. Remember when the Philippines were fighting the US soldiers? They were shooting them mother****** with 45’s. And them 45’s were bouncing off their mother******g ***. They weren’t even dying!” This time around, speaking to BoxingScene Mayweather didnt mention the drugs he thinks Pacquiao is on by name, although did elaborae on a few other subjects: “To me, he can’t even fight and if he can’t fight, then it means Freddie Roach can’t train. That’s why I call it like it is. Freddie ‘The Dope Coach’ Roach. He used to be the ‘Joke Coach Roach.’ Now he’s the ‘Dope Coach Roach.'” “It’s not a steroid. It’s something from the Philippines. Something they use in the army. When you hit the guy with a .45 or a .38 and they keep coming after they get shot. Whatever it is it has to be something strong for you to keep coming forward after you get shot,” Scott Bronson, Pittsburgh PA: “Senior is an expert on some kinds of drugs, but not performance enhancing ones. Considering his head trauma over the years though, this kind of thing isn’t unexpected. The concussion fairies he sees when he closes his eyes probably told him about the magical drugs that Filipino soldiers take.” Clark Garret, Pittsburgh PA: “It sounds like poppa Mayweather has been on the drugs himself. I’m beginning to think there’s no hope for the entire family” Even my outspoken pal and self confessed Floyd fan Bernie struggled to come up with anything positive to say about Mayweather Sr this time.
