Pacquiao’s upset calls for new list

Manny Pacquiao’s defeat of Marco Antonio Barrera on Nov. 15 sent shock waves through the boxing world — a world that now needs a new pound-for-pound list.

Here it is.

1. Roy Jones Jr.: No, the former light heavyweight king didn’t look very good in regaining his 175-pound titles against Antonio Tarver on Nov. 8. He was hit more than ever before and, for the first time, he looked old. But, since it was the first time Jones ever had looked vulnerable in his career, it’s worth giving him the benefit of the doubt. Jones had to emaciate himself to make 175 pounds, and even then, he had more left at the end than did Tarver.

2. Erik Morales: For years, Morales apparently has starved himself to get down to 126 pounds. Now that he’s at 130, he looks more powerful than ever. He destroyed old rival Guty Espadas in October, and appears refreshed.
