MANNY Pacquiao has been told to be extra careful against the “dirty tactics” of Hector Velasquez when they clash in the other mainer of a fight card that also features Erik Morales on Sept. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
American featherweight Rocky Juarez issued this warning to the Pacquiao camp recently. Juarez battled Velasquez two years ago for the World Boxing Council Continental Americas featherweight title.
“Velasquez has a much better chance of beating Pacquiao than (ex-Olympian Zahir) Raheem has of beating Morales,” Juarez said, citing the Mexican’s ability to “take a good punch.”
“Velasquez is the tougher fighter. He is a good fighter and crafty. I want to say that he is a good dirty fighter.”
Juarez said he expects Velasquez to hit Pacquiao “behind the head when the referee is not looking.”
“He knows how to use his head on the inside like a third hand, he will hit while he is holding,” the American added.
