FightFanNation.com: Are you guys happy about fighting DeMarco? Jose Castillo: Definitely! DeMarco is an up and coming fighter. He?s had some good wins and honestly it will be a good win for Valero. FightFanNation.com: Is DeMarco the biggest guy Valero has fought? Jose Castillo: Not really. He fought a guy that was a southpaw, I can?t remember his name, who is six one. FightFanNation.com: You guys took this fight basically to protect the WBC title right? Jose Castillo: That, but also DeMarco is a good fighter so it will be a good win for Edwin. FightFanNation.com: Let?s say he beats DeMarco and he is the favorite to do so, what would you guys like to do next? Jose Castillo: We would like to get a shot at Marquez at whatever weight it?s at, 135 or 140. FightFanNation.com: Would you consider a fight with Joan Guzman? Jose Castillo: No, it?s nothing for us! FightFanNation.com: Nate Campbell? Jose Castillo: Nate Campbell, possibly, possibly. We really haven?t thought about. Marquez would be one and Juan Diaz, but that would probably be one in which they probably wouldn?t want to give us a shot either. FightFanNation.com: Valero is with Top Tank. Do you think it would be problematic to make some of these fights due to the tension between Golden Boy and Top Rank following the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations? Jose Castillo: I don?t know. At the end of the day its business and I don?t think Golden Boy would get in the way if it makes business sense for their fighters, for both Top Rank and Golden Boy. I hope they would, but I think if the numbers are there that they would be able to do it. FightFanNation.com: Did they ever mull over the idea of Valero fighting Pacquiao in March instead of Clottey? Jose Castillo: It was briefly talked about. We already had the commitment for the DeMarco fight. It came up, but it didn?t go anywhere. We will find out about DeMarco. He does have boxing skills, but when they are in front of Valero they definitely see a big difference. It?s not like what they see on tape. FightFanNation.com: Are you guys going to get the Visa issues resolved? Jose Castillo: We are working on it. We are almost there. We are planning on re-submitting all the paper-work and having a successful entry hopefully by March.
