It looks like Antonio Margarito doesn’t want to risk being denied his boxing license and as such, has left disgraced boxing coach Javier Capetillo, who prior to this past year was more than just a trainer for him. It’s being hinted that either Abel Sanchez or Robert Garcia may end up taking over.
A source close to the former welterweight champ revealed that Sanchez, who’s based out of Big Bear and trained former junior middleweight champ Terry Norris is the favorite at this point although Garcia, who currently trains Steven Luevano and Brian Viloria as well as assists with Nonito Donaire, is also being considered.
Margarito meanwhile has been penciled in to fight on the Pacquiao-Cotto undercard while Top Rank awaits an approved license in Texas.
