There’s a destructive force that’s sucking the integrity and sportsmanship right out of Boxing. This force is Golden Boy Promotions and they are singlehandedly destroying boxing. From conflict to controversy to hypocrisy, Golden Boy Promotions has become the center of Boxing chaos.
Golden Boy Promotions was responsible for the failed negotiations with Manny Pacquiao. What could have been the greatest fight in decades, has become the greatest blunder in years. The contractural failure centered around GBP’s demands for additional blood tests and then insinuating that Pacquiao was on PEDs because the PacMan wouldn’t agree to their time frame. This is the same Golden Boy Promotions that was adamantly against additional testing just 1 ? years ago before. “Whatever tests they want them to take, Shane will submit to that. We are not going to do other tests than the Nevada commission requires. Next, we get to Mayweather Jr. Now, I have already documented the character, the history, and the criminal record of Floyd to great length. So, I won’t repeat it again. But I will say that GBP should be a professional organization and reign in their fighters. Instead, they join in on the circus that surrounds Mayweather. They join in on the madness that stems from Mayweather’s ducking, running, and avoiding tougher fights. They make excuses for him. GBP is like a parent who thinks their kid is innocent or just going through a phase when reality is that their kid is really possessed by a demon.
However, nothing says “dysfunctional” like a Promotion unable to get 2 of their fighters to agree to a fight. Are you kidding me? Could you be any more inept? The latest report of Mayweather balking at fighting Mosley is nothing short of ludicrous. Arguably the two biggest names in the GBP stable can’t even agree on a fight that’s 10 years too late.
Every time GBP sticks their hands in the Boxing pot, I cringe. They are destroying boxing.
