Kuntz is the Executive Director of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), which administers the Combat Sports (boxing) Division. Kuntz’ office is getting pressure from both pro and con Margarito sides.
I’m hearing a Friday night March 12 fight card has been added the night before the March 13 Pacquiao vs. Clottey card. The location would be nearby but not at Cowboys Stadium. This makes sense because with the international media a virtual captive audience, why not show off your other fighters not on the Saturday night card. Also it’s a last chance to reach possible last minute pay-per-view fans.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), also known as the boxing commission, has twice recently levied stiff fines on promoters for allowing alcoholic beverages into the “technical zones” and for allowing amateur fights to take place without the proper license on file with the state.
