It looks like Froggy Kermit Cintron will be staying on his lily pad on Golden (Boy) Pond for a while.
I’ve just been inflamed, I mean informed, that Floyd Mayweather really has no interest in fighting the hard punching Puerto Rican in a fight which would not be any financial bonanza.
In fact, a source who frequents the GBP offices in downtown Los Angeles in a furtive manner, tells me that neither Richie Rich Schaefer nor Oscar de la Hoya know as you read this what Money May wants to do next.
“The Goldens are not pushing Cintron and that’s why Lou DiBella’s had no proposal by email or by fax,” the source said. “Oscar and Richard are waiting for word from Al Haymon as to what Floyd wants to do.
“They really would not mind if Mayweather opts to wait for their promotion Jan. 30, the Andre Berto-Sugar Shane Mosley fight at Mandalay Bay, and they can all hope and pray Shane shines like new money to enable a Shane-Floyd big fight for May or June.”
In a related move, the Nevada commission Friday deferred a GBP request for a March 13 date at the MGM Grand because no opponent could be named for Mayweather.
Could you imagine how big a Mosley-Mayweather winner would be next fall against Manny Pacquiao?
Gigantic comes to mind.
Let Shane, if he can beat Berto back, and Floyd decide the “American welterweight title” first.
