At least from Ryan it is. Rated R for Rhino (and vulgar language… such a pottymouth).
It’s 8:36 am on Friday morning, and I swear this will be the last thing I write about Pacquaio/Mayweather. Sorry to both sides; I just can’t deal with this anymore. It’s gone from legitimate stumbling block (the tests, not the accusations) to media circus to just plain ass-clownery. Be that as it may, I need my 15 Minutes of Fame.
START THE CLOCK!
– I’m so sick of Bloodtestgate that I didn’t even want to do this article, but do it I shall.
– Let me make this clear in no uncertain terms: This is Floyd Mayweather’s fault. End of story. You don’t like it, I don’t give a rat’s ass. Get your own damn column. As I said back in November after Pacquiao thumped Cotto, there is no way in hell Floyd Mayweather wants a piece of Manny Pacquiao. He is too fanatic over his zero. I expected the fallout to be over money, but the fallout did happen. Manny agreed to have the fight at 147, at a 50/50 split, and with 10 ounce gloves instead of 8. Manny agreed to three blood tests, which is three more than the Nevada State Athletic Commission requires for a grievance that only Floyd Mayweather Sr. believes. Floyd tried to push around the man that is now pound for pound champ and actually holds a belt, and he pushed the wrong man. Someday we all knew he would.
– By the way, for all the Floyd disciples that thought they were getting the best of me in the last article about the glove size… Floyd prefers 10 ounce. Manny prefers 8 ounce. This is fact. How do I know this is fact? I USED TO WORK AT FREAKIN’ TOP RANK! I saw the gloves come in myself!
– Even though it’s Floyd’s fault, I’m getting sick of the whole damn mess. Pacquiao’s people are just as much to blame for this. Seriously, let’s all be fucking grown-ups about this. Team Mayweather is FULL of people who think they’re the boss. That should be your example of how NOT to operate. Slime-sucking stain on the face of the earth Michael Koncz is Manny’s manager/advisor/whatever. Let him do his job, or if he’s incompetent (maybe), oust him and get someone else. Freddie Roach, as brilliant of a trainer he is, is NOT Manny’s manager. His job is to prepare him for the next opponent. And Bob Arum, as respected as he is in the game, needs to learn that the sounds of silence was not just a Simon & Garfunkel hit.
– Rumors now say that both men will face a different opponent in March and then try to mend their ways around August or September. Honestly, if they try to reschedule, I won’t be as enthused as I was before. And I still won’t believe it’s happening until the Round 1 Bell rings.
– Possible opponent for Mayweather: Paulie Malignaggi. The pay-per-view card should be called “Track Meet.” Mayweather and Malignaggi are both slick boxers. A fifty-foot ring wouldn’t be big enough for them. Interest = zero. Unless Malignaggi goes back to dying his hair blue, because then I can trot this out again:
– Paulie, you’re my homie, but you need to keep quiet. Seriously. I can’t really believe that you really think Pacquiao is on roids too. You’re just saying it for publicity. I know you. And it’s getting uncool. So please, for once in your career, stay quiet and reap the benefit of all our sorrows.
– Possible opponent for Pacquiao: Yuri Foreman or Joshua Clottey. Freddie Roach doesn’t like the idea of Foreman, as he’s 5’11” making him the tallest opponent Pacquiao would have faced. I think they should be equally worried about a Clottey fight, as Clottey is like a brick sh*thouse, if you’ll pardon the vulgar expression. You can hit Clottey with your best and he’s still going to be standing, and most likely throwing. Margarito couldn’t do it. Cotto couldn’t do it. I feel a little titter of interest, but mainly because I’m further along in the stages of mourning for Pacquiao/Mayweather than most.
STOP THE CLOCK! 8:51am… Can we please focus on REAL fighters now? Lopez/Luevano is in a few weeks and we haven’t heard a peep from either one. Why? They’re busy training, like a real fighter should.
