Malignaggi, potentially biggest boxing bad guy ever!

With Christmas still fresh in our minds, maybe sliver tongued lashings are not the thing to do. But when boxing’s best fight in decades is on the brink of toppling into a historical “What If?” side note, what must be done – must be done

When Bob Arum opens his mouth, believe about one third of what flies out. Deep into his 70s, Arum is crabby and says whatever he wants, especially in the midst of a tense negotiation.

So when Floyd Mayweather demanded an extensive blood battery from Manny Pacquiao for their March 13, 2010 fight and Pacquiao balked, what did Arum do?

Float the name of a possible Mayweather replacement … Paulie Malignaggi.

Now the fast – talking, stunt pulling, Brooklyn boxer is capable in the ring, but has is less than loved by many of boxing’s faithful.

If Paulie were to replace Mayweather, in what was supposed to be boxing’s most anticipated bout since Ray Leonard decisioned Marvin Hagler, he will move from being hated to tfan’s sacraficial lamb – possible the largest one in the annals of boxing history.

For the record, Malignaggi himself believes Manny is on some sort of performance enhancing drug.

Paulie Malignaggi – the man who took the money to sink the fight WE all wanted.

Don’t do it Paulie, all the money in the World is not worth the negative karma you will receive. You will be the man who personally filed Mayweather – Pacquiao into the folder of “Great Fights That Never Happened”
