What happens when you are the king of the hill? People want to knock you off of it. Manny Pacquiao is the king of the hill right now, and until someone can knock him off of that hill, he will remain the king. Unfortunately, it appears as if people are trying to knock Manny off of the hill without throwing a punch. It’s outside of the ring where Manny has had to defend himself most rigorously as of late. The Mayweather team, beginning a few months ago began to stir up the waters by accusing Pacquiao of using some sort of performance enhancing drugs (steroids).

Numerous times Floyd Mayweather Sr has gone on the record and voiced his suspicion on Pacquiao and steroids, and now it appears as if he will have to back up his allegations in a court of law. This writer has confirmed with a very reliable source that Pacquiao will be filing a lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather Sr, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and the Golden Boy CEO for slander. Pacquiao is known for his humble and kind disposition, but even he has his limits of patience. Pacquiao has risen from the streets to international fame, and he’s done it through hard work and dedication. To have his legacy tarnished by baseless accusations such as steroids is enough to make him up the ante with a lawsuit.
Now, as far as the Mayweather’s demands that Manny adhere to Olympic style drug testing. It seems as if Manny has put his talents on the chess board to real life chess. Pacquiao, under the directive of Freddie Roach is refusing to take a blood test on the day before the fight. When this news initially came out, Floyd Mayweather Sr jumped on the record and screamed to the world, “I told you so!” well that too has now back fired. Pacquiao and Roach have since agreed to blood testing, but stand firm that giving blood a day before the fight will not happen. However, they agreed to give a blood sample on the day after the fight. So what’s the difference? Roach in an exclusive 8CountNews interview explained, ” giving blood on the day before the fight is the same thing as having sex before a fight, it’s a no no. Having sex on the day before a fight makes you weak. It’s the same with giving blood. It will take Manny 3 days to fully recover and I am not going to have my fighter a day before the fight give blood, it’s not happening.”
Giving blood on the day after the fight would show the same exact results as a blood test the day before the fight. Team Pacquiao has agreed to give blood on the day after. This shows that Pacquiao is not scared of any blood testing. A person who was truly taking steroids would not want to give blood, period! Pacquiao has agreed to give blood before the press conference, and on the day after. Check mate? Floyd Mayweather will have to explain why he’s willing to throw 25 million dollars away.
Pacquiao has agreed to the venue, the glove size, the purse money, everything. He’s stepped up to once again show his fans that he will fight king kong, it doesn’t matter to him. Mayweather on the other hand has a lot of damage control to do. If he is smart he will hire the best public relations guru in the business, because he’s going to need it.
Arum is already looking ahead and has mentioned former Jr welterweight world champion Paulie Malignaggi as a replacement for Mayweather. Love him or hate him, this is a huge opportunity for the kid from Brooklyn, New York. This writer happens to be a Malignaggi fan. This writer is also a Pacquiao fan, because of Manny’s character and achievements in and outside of the ring. Malignaggi? I like the kids swagger, and he’s also a straight up kid that doesn’t make excuses.
